Where just 3 years ago most of the buildings were vacant and very little was going on now there is construction happening on a daily basis.

National League of Cities Conference in Washington D.C.
I have returned from two awesome training sessions. One was in Washington D.C. last month which offered a great networking opportunity for me and other council members to meet with city officials from across the country and discuss some of the similar challenges that we face in Tuskegee. This allowed us the opportunity to look at other ways to improve our city.
Alabama League of Cities Training in Wetumpka
The second training session that I attended was just this past week in Wetumpka sponsored by the Alabama League of Municipalities. This seminar like other league seminars gave us the opportunity to network with other city officials in Alabama and learn about issues and concerns that will better prepare us for any challenges we may face.
Street Paving to Begin Soon
The city is working on a long-term plan to get our streets paved. There is currently a list of all the streets throughout the city and paving is completed based on the condition of each street.
Police Coverage Increasing
Currently the city is working to find more ways to increase our safety. Police check points have been set up on different days and times to slow down traffic and increase coverage in the district. |
